According to research out of Penn State ,mushrooms may benefit your mental health, in addition to being rich in antioxidants, protein, fiber and vitamins. Researchers found, between 2005 and 2016, adults who were studied eating mushrooms, had lower rates of depression. Why? while further research is needed, it is suggested the antioxidants in the fungi, including an amino acid ,called ergothioneine, may lower oxidative stress..This reduction is associated with lower levels depressive symptoms.—Health Magazine
