Foods that fight stress:

1.Avocado-These nutrient-dense fruits have the properties to stress-proof your body,thanks to their high glutathione content which blocks the intestinal absorption of certain fats which cause oxidative damage. Avocados also contain higher levels of vitamin E, folate and beta-carotene, than any other fruit.

2.Blueberries-These superfoods have high levels of antioxidants, esp. antho-cyanin, which means that these berries have been linked to a wide range of health benefits, including better focus, sharper cognition and a clearer mind.

3.Chamomile Tea-Used as a natural bedtime soother and is effective in reducing the symptoms GAD.

4.Chocolate-Eating chocolate can make us happier, eaten in moderation. Dark chocolate contains more flavonoid and polyphenols, two imp. antioxidants which help combat stress.

5.Beef-Grass fed beef has a huge range of antioxidants, including Beta carotene and vitamins C and E, which help fight off stress.

6.Oatmeal- Eating oatmeal helps our brains produce high levels of serotonin ,the feel-good chemical.

7. Pistachios-Studies have found that eating 2 small snack-sized portions per day can lower vascular restriction when we are stressed, putting less pressure on the heart by further dilating the arteries.

8.Green leafy veggies-These, incl.spinach can produce more mood-regulating chemicals like serotonin.
